October 19, 2019

Saturday, October 19, 2019, 10 am to 4 pm, free

The Office of Archaeological Studies, in collaboration with the Santa Fe Chapter of the Archaeological Institute of America and other organizations in northern New Mexico, will host an open house at the Center for New Mexico Archaeology (7 Old Cochiti Road, Santa Fe, NM 87507) on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 10 am to 4 pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the building, which is the primary storage facility for New Mexico’s archaeological collections, as well as the offices and working research laboratories of the Office of Archaeological Studies. Visitors of all ages can learn about New Mexico’s unique 12,000 year cultural heritage through a wide range of hands-on activities, demonstrations, and interactions with archaeologists. Come throw atlatls, shoot bows, make yucca fiber, learn about rock art, and query archaeologists with all those questions you have always wanted to ask about New Mexico archaeology.

Please visit the Office of Archaeological Studies' website for details, directions, and more information or contact Eric Blinman at (505) 476-4404 or eric.blinman@state.nm.us to inquire further.
